Sticky Honey Chicken

One of my closies is in town from Milan, so we're having a comfy dinner at home tonight.. I want something tasty yet quick & easy to cook up so that I can spend the evening chatting with her.. When we lived in Paris, we used to go to an incredible Chinese restaurant owned by an old lady called Therese who made me fall in love with her "Poulet au Miel" (Honey Chicken)..

A yummy, sticky & gooey chicken with lots of cripsy bits!! Make sure you don't brown the chicken too much as it adds bitterness to the dish...

Serves 2-3 persons

1 chicken cut into pieces
2 chopped garlic cloves
1 tsp grated ginger
some chili (optional)
4 TBL honey
1/2 cup reduced salt soy sauce
½ tsp all spice
squeeze of lemon
nut oil
some chopped spring onion

Add a generous amount of oil to your pan then add the ginger, garlic and chili (if you wish). Then brown your chicken on all sides and add the honey, make sure to coat the pieces well. Cook for a few minutes, then add the soy sauce, all spice and pepper to taste. Cook for about 20 minutes then take the pot off the heat, squeez some lemon and garnish with the spring onions... Voila!
